Seven-Point Painting System

Del Mar has developed this system to provide you with a long-lasting, high quality paint job that will minimize business interruptions and eliminate the headaches associated with a typical paint job.

1) Personnel:
It all starts with our qualified and experienced painters. At Del Mar Painting, our painters are carefully chosen not only for their skill and experience, but also for their ability to meet our clients’ needs.

2) Evaluation:
We carefully evaluate all surfaces to be painted as well as the surrounding environmental conditions that may impact the project. This allows us to properly assess your specific painting needs.

3) Protection:
All surfaces not being painted are meticulously protected and all efforts are made to contain dust and odor.

4) Preparation:
The correct preparation method is critical to this painting system. 90% of all paint failure is due to poor surface preparation. Our preparation methods assure a quality, long-lasting paint job.

5) Coating Selection:
We use only the highest quality materials and ensure the proper coating system is selected for each individual project.

Paint serves two functions, the first is protection. A good paint coating will keep sun and moisture away from the surface. The second purpose of paint is to beautify by giving the desired color and finish. It is our job to properly prepare the surface and apply the paint in order to provide both protection and beauty.

Surface preparation is 70% of a paint job

We scrape off the loose paint, putty the cracks, sand, prime, and then paint. It is absolutely critical that the preliminary tasks are thoroughly performed.

 Interior Painting

1.    Wash all areas that may cause adhesion problems.
2. Caulk and putty where ever necessary.
3. Perform minor drywall repairs.
4. Prime bare wood, drywall, and stains.
5. Mask and protect floors, furniture, and belongings.
6. Scrape and sand as necessary.
7. Apply top quality interior paint.

Exterior Painting

1. Power-wash to provide a clean surface for the paint.
2. Scrape and sand to remove loose paint.
3. Fill voids and cracks in siding and trim with the appropriate patching compound.
4. Re-glaze windows.
5. Caulk where necessary.
6. Prime where necessary.
7. Apply top quality finish paint.
